A.V. Smith is an untrained potter from Sanford, North Carolina, an area famous for its indigenous clay and potters. A. V. worked with highly acclaimed potter, Charles Lisk, and like Lisk, makes folk jugs that are known for their expressiveness. Also, he is one of the few potters who regularly uses bright glazes, so this work is a true stand-out in any collection.
