Chris Heilman creates his encased glass in his Maine studio very near the sea. Inspired by his love of the ocean and scuba diving, many of his life-like pieces are like taking a trip to a coral reef. Chris uses ancient techniques of lampmaking and murrini to fashion his scenes and then wraps the entire glass creation in crystal. His work is in collections at the Portland Museum of Art, the Museum of Art Glass in New Jersey and at Swarovski International Corporation in Zurich, Switzerland.
